Folk Art imitation of factory CCBCO Jigger Fishing Lure
I think this is a very nice fisherman made imitation of a the very classic Creek Chub jigger fishing lure. The maker made a very honest attempt at creating a facsimile of the original. The jigger features a distinctive body shape and most notable a hole through the body that get water forced through it by the addition of a metal lip on the belly. It is obvious that the metal lip is hand-cut and formed on this example. I like the playful frog spot color pattern and funky eyes on top of the head. I believe the silver paint is covering an original paint covering? I wonder if the maker decided it need more flash to attract fish? from the former collection of Bob Wentz.
The following examples are other CCBCO Jigger imitations I have seen sell online.
very primitive homemade example
could be a modified-repainted factory lure?
I like the extended head and slim neck on this example
This following lure is a beautiful example of the factory CCBCO Jigger lure in nice silver-flash color.
